I'm so glad your child is interested in singing with the Colorado Elementary All State Choir!
This is a prestigious choir and requires extra rehearsal and preparation.  Six fourth and fifth grade students will be selected to attend.  Students will be provided with a CD and music.  Much of their preparation will be accomplished on their own.

This choir will perform at the Broadmoor Hotel on January 27th.
Participants will need to pay a registration fee as well as music fees.   This will add up to $60. Payment is not expected until singers are selected.  (Scholarships are available, so please do not allow your child to miss this opportunity because of finances.)

Once members are selected, we will schedule one or two rehearsals each month through the months of November, December, and January.
If needed, extra rehearsals may be added.  We will dialogue about possible dates before they are added.

Thank you so much!

Audition Info

Part One-
Students will sing a short song without accompaniment.  (Examples: My Country ‘Tis of Thee, a Disney song, a World Choir song, a church song, music they’ve learned in class)
Part two-
Students will echo a melody after hearing it played on the piano. (4 beats)

We won’t make this a stressful audition process.  We’ll keep a light atmosphere.  However, behavior and attitude will count toward the student’s score.
I invite high school students who are preparing for their own All State auditions to adjudicate our auditions.

I hope this helps you to prepare your child.  If you have questions, please let me know so that I can clarify.

The next step will be for you to print and turn in the CEASC mandatory documents from the "Parent Documents."  These are due on November 11th, so that I'll have adequate time to turn in our packet to business services.  Failure to submit payment and paperwork by November 11th may result in replacement of your child.
